I have been waiting for my new Souk Rug from West Elm for what feels like months now (I think, I ordered it 3 weeks ago, heh), and today, I finally received the message that the rug will be delivered tomorrow, yay! After we moved around the furnitures in our living room area, we realised that a new rug was needed (among other things) in order to 'complete' the room. I have had a keen eye on that rug for a long time, so I really hope that it will live up to my expectations and the vision I have in my head.
I'm obviously not the only one, who likes the look of the rug, as it blends so well into the Scandinavian interior style with it's minimalistic yet soft look. Although it became quite expensive with the delivering costs, the rug is still the 'cheaper' version of the much more expensive Moroccan rugs - e.g. those hand-woven by the Beni Ourain tribes of Morocco's Atlas Mountains. You find a beautiful selection of vintage Beni Ourain rugs at Artilleriet's webshop - and if money wasn't an issue, I would definitely go for one of those.
Looking at the above pictures, only makes me even more impatient. What do you think? Do you like this type of rug?
Have a lovely evening X
