As I promised you yesterday, here is a pile of before and after pictures of our kitchen (find the before pictures down at the bottom - if you dare, hah!). When we bought our apartment almost two (!) years ago, it seriously needed a makeover. The building is from the mid 50'ies, and I don't think the kitchen has been changed much since then. So we tore everything down, made a huge hole in the wall into the living room area and closed the old door. We chose an all-white kitchen from the Danish kitchen barnd, Invita, a corian counter top and a black sink. I really like our kitchen and especially that we chose to tear down the wall, since it has added an incredible light throughout the whole kitchen/living room space. However, as I have said before, we really went for the 'safe' choice kitchen-wise, since we don't plan on staying in the apartment forever, and a simple kitchen is just easier to sell. In fact, we are already toying with the thought of a new place, depending on where and when I will find a job. And I obviously already have a lot of ideas to my future kitchen :-) I would definitely like a more personal kitchen with more character and possibly in a darker colour. But gee, it's so hard deciding how one's kitchen - and bathroom for that matter - should look like. I change my mind all the time, and what I like now, I will probably dislike in a couple of months, do you know that feeling? Well, enough talk, let's get to it...

Da vi købte lejligheden for snart to (!)

Green herbs and nice details can really do wonders for even the most boring kitchen

What I like most about our kitchen is probably our Quooker - I use it so many times during the day and it's worth every penny!

So that was the after pictures. Please let me know if you have any questions. And now to the before pictures - they are so ugly that I'm almost ashamed of showing them on the blog - but what you don't do to prove a point, right? :D

The kitchen was so tiny, it was really difficult to get good pictures of it.

Sometimes I totally forget that the apartment once looked like this. Good to be reminded some times!
So that was the tour-de-kitchen, hope you liked it. And I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. See you for the weekly wrap-up tomorrow :-)

  2. Amazing job! I love it and took much inspiration from Danish design when I visited Copenhagen for the first time in November. Instead of taking tourist photo's, I took photos of homeware and lighting in shops!

  3. oh how I love before and after pictures and the difference here is truly striking! It's amazing what you can do with a space if the walls don't stop you :) Beautiful outcome, thanks for sharing!
