Weekly wrap-up #4

25/01/2015

Time for a new round of my weekly wrap-up. There hasn't really been any inspiring home tours this week (or maybe I have just missed them?), I guess everybody is busy with all the design fairs going on at the moment :-) The most exciting news, I think, was when Lotta Agaton earlier this week stated that Ilse Crawford launch her first collection for IKEA during Stockholm Furniture Fair. I'm very excited to see what will come out of that. Definitely something good. So this time I will show you some of my favourite design news from the past week and a video that really touched me, made me wanna drop everything, move to Sweden and buy a Volvo.

We wont get around the SS15 news from Menu this week. I can't hide that I'm a huge Menu fan and whenever my family asks for a wish list, I could just as easily give them a Menu catalogue :-) And the SS15 news definitely do not disappoint. I have earlier said how much I love their 'soft minimalism' and 'scandinese' vibes, and the above are just some of my favourites: the Round Box by Sarah Böttger, Turning Table by Theresa Arns and the Snaregade table by Norm Architects, where the latter propably has gotten most attention from the design bloggers this past week. Do you have a favourite?

And now for something completely different: the first video clip in the blog's history. A Volvo commercial. Who would have thought :-D I first saw it when Josefin Hååg from 20kvadrat posted it earlier this week, and I cant count how many times I have seen it since. Love everything about it, especially Amanda Bergman's version of the song, 'Vintersaga'. What do you think, beautiful right?

Enjoy your Sunday, and see you next week.
X Johanne

  1. That Volvo commercial was a work of art. We'd never get a 4 minute commercial here in the U.S.

    1. They never do that either here in Denmark, at least not on the telly :-) But I couldn't agree more - it's definitely a work of art :-)
