October List

And then came October, which in many ways is my favourite month, but which, in time, also has become a very emotional time of the year for me. Two years ago, we lost our little girl in a premature birth. And one year ago, I gave birth to the most perfect baby boy. Sometimes, it's so hard to understand how much can happen in a year. It can seem so exciting and frightening at the same time. And in two weeks time, we can celebrate Saxo's first birthday. He has evolved so much, and albeit I might sound like the biggest mama cliché, I wish time would stand still for just a little while.

But let's move on to the October list, which obviously is devoted to the fall season. First up is this stunning table setting by A Table Story. They did it a couple of years ago, but that doesn't make it less stunning. I would love to sit down here among pumpkins, quinces, golden and burned colours. So beautiful.

As I've mentioned before, my maternity leave ended this month, which hopefully means new and exciting job adventures. But that also means that the days of sweatpants and t-shirts are over, and my wardrobe really needs an upgrade. I would love this shirt from Dôen to be one of them. Besides making some really nice clothes, I also love the way they style their products. So lovely, effortless and poetic.

In October, three years ago, we spend our honeymoon in Japan, and every October (well, actually all year round) we long for this breathtaking, bewildering and contrasted country, so it obviously had to be on this month's list as well. Beth from Local Milk has taken these stunning pictures, which just make my wanderlust even bigger.

Last up is a small vase novelty. The popular glass vases from Skrufs Glasbruk also come in a black version now, and this one particularly caught my eye - maybe mainly because of the small flower arrangement in it. Nevertheless, I think it would be perfect on the table for Halloween :)

  6. October means fall and fall, and I love fall for several reasons:
    1. the pumpkin spice smell everywhere?
    2. fall brings rain and that's good for my business
I know I should not be happy about roof leaks people have but this is my bread and butter so please don't judge.
